"Ghat Gold wasn't built in a boardroom; it was born in our kitchens and on our terraces."
For years, as homemakers in Vatakara, we struggled with the quality of spices available in the market. We found ourselves constantly adjusting recipes, trying to find that authentic, 'mother’s hand' taste that seemed lost to industrial processing. We knew that for the perfect meal, the ingredients had to be as pure as the soil they came from.
Our passion for gardening faced a different hurdle. In the heat of Kerala, our terrace plants struggled. Common soil was too heavy, and many 'branded' cocopeats were too salty. We spent months experimenting with washing and buffering techniques to create a medium that actually worked. When our own gardens finally flourished, we realized we had to share this 'Gold' with the world.
Ghat Gold is a collective where 85% of our share partners are women.
We transformed our domestic struggles into a professional standard of excellence, ensuring financial independence for families in Vatakara.
